Hanwha Aerospace is the largest defence equipment company in the Republic of Korea, with four key business pillars, namely Aerospace & Mechatronics, Clean Energy & Ocean Solutions, Finance, and Retail & Services.

The company specialises in cutting-edge defence electronic solutions and services, including Eco-satellite systems as well as image receiving and processing systems.

It also has advanced capabilities in the delivery of world-class large commercial ships and naval vessels.

The company has expressed strong interest in exploring the establishment of an assembly plant in Botswana, with a view to exporting its equipment within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region and across the wider African continent.

The initiative is expected to enhance industrial cooperation, promote technology transfer, and support regional defence and maritime capabilities while positioning Botswana as a potential strategic hub for manufacturing and assembly operations in the region.
